Dr. Alison Norwich, DVM

Veterinarian Writer

Dr. Alison Norwich is a small animal veterinarian living and working in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. Alison ventured into the veterinary world at age 16 with her high school co-op placement. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University, while spending her summers back home working at local vet clinics. In 2011, she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College.

Following graduation, Alison immediately delved into clinical practice. She works primarily in day practice where she gets the opportunity to build long-term relationships with pets and their owners. She also has experience in emergency medicine and freelance medical writing.

Professionally, Alison’s special interests include preventive healthcare and internal medicine. She also has a passion for client communication and education. More recently, she has taken an interest in the One Health approach, and has enjoyed volunteering with Community Veterinary Outreach as well as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Alison’s favourite things to do are read, write, dance, and sing loudly in the shower. She is also an avid patio-diner. Most of all though, she enjoys a long dog walk and spending time with her husband Josh and their baby boy, Saul.
