Sunny Shao

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Sunny Shao is a startup marketer and (fin)tech geek turned founder, having worked in the financial services and technology industries for over a decade.

After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a B.Sc. in Biology, she transitioned to a career in marketing shortly afterwards. Sunny spent almost four years in marketing and communications at an investment management firm before moving to Toronto in 2012 to pursue her MBA, specializing in Entrepreneurship at the Schulich School of Business (York University).

Her passion for open access and democratization of information, data and capital started in 2012 when she joined the National Crowdfunding and Fintech Association (NCFA) as a founding member and advisor. After a number of stints as a growth marketer in various fintech startups, she decided to pursue Doggo.Health full time in November 2019.

As a dog lover and owner her whole life, it wasn’t until Sunny adopted Luka in June 2019 that she reconnected with her love of dogs, and her childhood passion of working with animals when she grew up.

Elizabeth Davis

Chief Veterinarian

Dr. Liz Davis is an experienced small animal veterinarian, specializing in clinical, surgical and emergency medicine.

After graduating from the Veterinary College of Ireland (UCD) in 2012, Liz returned to her hometown of Toronto, ON, where she worked in various clinics before opening  her own mobile veterinary business, Davis Mobile Vet. In 2018, Liz moved to Vancouver, BC where she currently works as a locum veterinarian throughout the Lower Mainland.

Liz has a special interest in allergic skin disease and pet nutrition alongside her main focus of preventative care and overall pet wellness.

In addition to her standard practice, Liz is always open to exploring innovative ways to approach veterinary medicine, to provide pet owners with the most effective and convenient means to ensure their pets are healthy, while keeping them happy during the process.

Having grown up in the UK and then Toronto, Liz attributes her family Golden Retrievers and being surrounded by horses to instilling her love for animals from an early age. Liz is keen to bring her knowledge, experience and overall love for animals, with the help of modern technology, to help revolutionize veterinary medicine, in particular in a post-COVID era.
