Contact your regular animal hospital ASAP and don’t let your dog irritate their hind end
- If your regular veterinary hospital is open, contact them now. If they are closed, it is probably safe to wait until morning.
- Monitor your dog carefully – if your dog becomes very lethargic, painful, or vomits, contact an emergency veterinary clinic.
- Be careful when handling your dog – the affected area is likely painful and they may bite.
- Don’t let your dog bite/lick at their hind end. Put a cone on them if you have one.
