Monitor your dog and feed a bland diet if they have an upset stomach
- Monitor your dog closely for any new symptoms or changes in behavior. Contact an emergency hospital if your dog:
- Vomits more than 3 times within 24 hours or persists for more than a day
- Projectile vomits
- Becomes very lethargic
- Doesn’t pass stool for more than a day
- Can’t keep water down (or drinking causes them to vomit)
- Has very pale or white gums
- Develops a bloated or swollen abdomen
- If you suspect your dog’s tummy is upset, you can feed them a bland diet of rice and boiled chicken in small but frequent meals. You can also add a tablespoon of plain probiotic yogurt (though some dogs are lactose intolerant)
