Discharge from Skin

Discharge or oozing from your dog’s skin can present in many ways in color, consistency and smell, and is most often caused by some kind of bacterial or fungal infection on or in the skin. The most common conditions that cause discharge are hot spots, abscess, sebaceous cysts and fungal or yeast infections.

Skin discharge issues are rarely straightforward, so it’s important to pay attention to details like what it looks like, how it smells and if your dog is itchy or not – all signs that can help your veterinarian determine what the underlying cause of the issue is.
